Business Development Specialist needed to expand the offline market presence of a retail company in Garden Grove CA.
Direct Hire position paying a salary range of $55-75K depending on experience plus bonus and benefits including medical, dental, vision and PTO. This position will be onsite except for when traveling to visit clients. NOT a remote position. Hours are 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM to start though could have some flexibility in the future.
Ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the automotive and household tools categories with a proven record of developing and implementing successful business development strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential niches within similar industries.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies alongside the current Business Development management team.
- Create and manage sales pipelines to meet company revenue objectives.
- Prospect potential offline customers locally and throughout the country as they aim to expand their offline retail footprint.
- Execute on a high volume of prospective customer contacts. Set appointments for product demonstrations and ongoing evaluations.
- Maintain company CRM database for accuracy and completeness of company and individual records.
- Utilize Salesforce automation and CRM integration to create outbound marketing and lead development campaigns.
- Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, market trends, and progress toward sales targets to the management team.
- Create financial project proposals that are clear and definitive of the scope of work to be performed. Interact with the project management team in advance to perform initial project analysis, scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manage the sales cycle through hand-off to the Business Development team. Properly relay designs, information, and instructions between the client and cross-functional team.
- Translate technical, business, and functional requirements into client project expectations.
- Work with cross-functional teams (clients, graphic designers, supply chain, etc) and communicate effectively.
- Continuously improve and develop industry related knowledge, trends, and opportunities.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development or sales within the automotive, household, or hardware industries.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Experience with Business Suite and Salesforce automation, communication, business analytics software (Salesforce, MS Teams, Airtable, MS Word, MS Excel, Office365)
- Strong understanding of current retail trends, best practices, and
the overall business landscape. - Excellent written and oral communication skills (responding to emails and phone calls both effectively and timely).
- Have a keen eye for detail and a strive to consistently produce
quality work. - Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Effectively work independently with little or no supervision or as a
part of a team as a contributor or team lead. - Willingness to work hard and put in extra effort to meet deadlines
and exceed client and management expectations. - This position is expected to regularly travel locally and
occasionally domestically for conferences and sales opportunities.
