The ASSC team are proactive, professional and focused on providing the best possible customer support. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Structural Engineer to support the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A platform. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will support the BDA C-17A Australian Sustainment Services Program which is essential in ensuring continuing airworthiness of the aircraft under the Defence Airworthiness Safety Regulations (DASR). The role is based in RAAF Base Amberley, QLD. As a Mechanical/Structural Engineer you will be: Be responsible for the successful integration of modifications and new payloads into the mechanical and structural subsystems of existing aircraft. Provide in service support in the fields of Aeronautics, Mechanical and Structural systems on current operating platforms. Contribute to the ongoing development of Type Certification Programs, to successfully maintain the Type Certification of current operating platforms. Perform and review engineering activities including project management, supplier technical coordination, design development and engineering investigation. Work towards gaining Engineering Authority and Delegations on the platforms you will be supporting. To be considered for the role you will have Must hold tertiary Engineering qualifications in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical specialisations from a nationally accredited program; Previous experience in aviation engineering activities including design development and engineering investigations relating to aircraft aeronautical, mechanical and structural subsystem designs Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within a safety regulated environment such as the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR). Applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance (NV1). You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role. This is not a requirement set or determined by Boeing but by the Department of Defence under laws issued in 2024.
