Position: 

Senior Lead Unreal Engine Programmer

The3rdOne Games seeks a dynamic, technically proficient, and collaborative Senior Lead Advanced Gameplay Engineer with expertise in Unreal Engine. You will become an integral part of our team, focusing on gameplay, AI, and networking during the initial to middle phases of game development.

WHO YOU ARE:

•A skilled mentor and leader capable of guiding gameplay engineers to enhance their skills.

•Possessing a keen sense of gameplay mechanics with a drive for crafting enjoyable experiences.

•Enjoy collaborating with designers, artists, and fellow engineers to refine ideas and translate them into robust implementations.

•A seasoned engineering lead with a track record of leading gameplay teams through all development stages and post-launch support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

•Lead and mentor a team of gameplay engineers.

•Assess feature designs and implementations, educating other gameplay engineers on best practices.

•Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.

•Participate in feature team meetings, advocating for the work of gameplay engineers.

•Develop and implement gameplay systems using C++ and blueprints, while also enhancing and refining existing systems created by our game engineers.

•Utilize Steam API to create reliable networking systems ensuring stable online play worldwide.

•Design advanced AI systems and AI animation systems to enrich gameplay environments.

•Enhance existing C++ codebase developed by our game engineers to integrate dynamic RPG systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•4+ years of professional experience as an engineer, including 1+ years of experience in a leadership role.

•Experience working within Unreal Engine 5.

•Experience leading a team though all stages of development and servicing of a game title.

•Experience developing multiplayer online action games.

•Experience with C++ and Gameplay Ability System (EPIC).

•Experience with Unreal Engine's AI framework.

•Demonstrated experience of released titles.

•Strong 3D/Vector math knowledge.

SKILLS:

•Good literary and oral communications skills.

•Experience working with a team of diverse disciplines.

•Unreal Engine Generalist knowledge is appreciated.

•Experience with game networking models.

•Experience shipping a live game.
