CAD Design Engineer

Job Description

Inspire Resourcing are seeking a CAD Design Engineer for our client in Sheffield. The CAD Design Engineer is responsible for staying up to date with new advancements in CAD software and work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering and wider team to deliver excellence to our customers worldwide.\nYou will report to the CAD Lead primarily and will provide functional support to the Technical Team in the development of new and existing products.\nKey Roles and Responsibilities to include:\nAs a key member of our team, you will:\n· Produce engineering drawings in SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD for both customer approval and manufacture.\n· Support the creation of BOMs.\n· Create/check and amend drawings/specifications as required by the technical and support team. Complete technical checks in line with business processes and requirements prior to going to Production.\n· Play a key role in the implementation and support of DriveWorks and PLM.\n· Help our Design Engineers create new product drawings when required.\n· Help our tech support and training teams deliver technical information.\n· Contribute to developing our technical drawing and design resources for customers eg BIM models.\n· Assist in improving our design processes and administration.\n· Help us improve the quality of our technical design resources in customer communications etc.\nPerson Specification\nThe information provided below is the criteria by which a candidate will be assessed against to measure the suitability for the role.\nDesirable Qualifications/Registration\n· HNC (or above) in Engineering (or equivalent) OR undertaken an apprenticeship in Engineering (or related discipline)\n· Masters Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent\n· Experience Significant experience working in a design team\n· Previously worked in a SME\nKey Software Skills:\n * SolidWorks\n * 2D AutoCAD\n * Familiarity with DriveWorks and PLM systems is beneficial.\nWe also recruit for Engineering, Accounts, IT, Management, Sales, Office and many more roles
