CAD Design Engineer
Job Description
CAD Design Engineer \n\n Orion is working with a global company that has an exciting opportunity for a CAD Design Engineer to join the team. The CAD Design Engineer is responsible for creating mechanical and electrical drawings of low and medium complexity using a 3D CAD system and associated BOM via an ERP system. Drawing work supports Application Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.\n\nRole of the CAD Design Engineer \n\nCreate dimensioned drawings and 3D models based on input from engineers and customer.\nPerform low and medium-complexity design work on components as directed including 3D library components and assemblies.\nCreate parts lists for new products.\nPerform a variety of tasks related to new design and project work, including but not limited to Purchasing support, Quality, Production assistance on new designs, and customer communication.\nOrganise the creation of demonstration units; work with Production to build prototypes of new designs.\nEngineering drafting support to develop custom solutions for customers, conceptual drawings, and other project work.\nProvides 2D overlay assembly system drawings for contractors and end users. \n\nRequirements of the CAD Design Engineer \n\nTwo-year technical degree, associate’s in mechanical or electrical Drafting or equivalent experience.\nA minimum of 2 years of drafting experience.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor or similar CAD system.\nAbility to create 2D/3D models and assemblies in a CAD environment, Autodesk mechanical .\nThe ability to work with those who build, assemble, and other Production functions.\nGeneral electrical knowledge is a plus including the ability to perform low and medium complexity wiring diagrams.\nFull Right to Work in the UK.
