CAD Engineer
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking a CAD Engineer to join their team in the Netherlands. Job Title: CAD Engineer Location: Netherlands Salary: To be discussed in the Interview Vacancy Type: Full-Time Closing date for applications: End Dec 2024 Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 1-10 years of experience in CAD design within the shipbuilding or marine sector. Proficiency in CAD Software: Expertise in using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or CATIA for ship design and modelling. Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands. Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken). Beneficial requirements: Knowledge of Shipbuilding Standards: Familiarity with maritime regulations, classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV GL), and industry safety standards. Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and accuracy in design. Duties and responsibilities: Design & Drafting: Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings for ship components, including the hull, deck, propulsion systems, and interior layouts. Collaboration with Engineers: Work closely with naval architects, structural engineers, and other design teams to ensure integration of all ship systems and components. Design Modifications: Revise and update CAD designs based on feedback from project teams, testing, or changes in project scope. Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all designs comply with marine industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of CAD files, design modifications, and technical specifications for construction and regulatory purposes.
