Our client is seeking a CAD Technician to work in Muscatine, IA, for an initial 12-month assignment, likely to extend!
Looking for a skilled CAD Design Technician to join the Project Engineering team at their site. This contingent, non-production role involves using advanced design software to create both 2D and 3D models for project components, aiding engineers in project visualization, cost estimation, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D surface models and 3D solid models for a variety of engineering projects.
- Utilize surface modeling for flat representations and solid modeling for 3D displays, allowing engineers to inspect and interact with designs virtually.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to work on specific project parts, following precise specifications and ensuring design accuracy.
- Prepare cost estimates for project proposals based on design specifications.
- Develop comprehensive assembly instructions, maintenance manuals, and documentation to support installation, service, and repair teams.
- Demonstrate knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and construction methods throughout project tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD design, specifically within engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software and related design tools.
- Strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing/construction methods.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of engineers to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
