CAD Technician
Our Water engineering design and delivery client are seeking a CAD Technician to be based out of their Leeds office on a permanent basis.
They will join a growing multi-disciplinary design team who are focussed on doing temporary and permanent engineering design directly delivering as part of AMP8 Yorkshire Water Frameworks. They are looking for candidates with at least 3 years experience within the construction or civil engineering industries.
Responsibilities
Developing 2D and 3D drawings and models of projects. Typically these may include:
Site layouts and GA drawings of structures.
Reinforced concrete buildings
Pumping stations
Pipelines, valves, mechanical components
Cabling / pipework / containment
Temporary works structures (including shutters and formwork).
Steel structures.
P&ID's
Electrical SLD's and block diagrams.
Co-ordinating with the CAD Team and designers to create and review drawings / models.
Co-ordinating with site delivery teams to get input on constructability and methods of construction.
Input into various reviews of designs, such as HAZOPS, ALMs, Stage Gate reviews.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
Have experience of using AUTOCAD for 2D (Essential) and 3D modelling.
Ideally have experience of 3D modelling (Revit) for Civil / construction projects.
Have experience of working with rules set out in BS19560.
Have experience working with BIM360 and /or any other cloud file hosting environments
Be proficient at the use of Microsoft Office software, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Be a clear communicator, able to articulate their ideas clearly, and receive feedback.
Have good written and verbal communication skills, so that they can explain their work to different groups of people such as clients, operatives on site, and project management teams.
Be self-motivated and driven.
Have a good attention to detail and be thorough with their work.
Be well organised and capable of multi-tasking (working on different projects at the same time).

Base Location: Our newly acquired Yorkshire office: Astley Way, Swillington, Leeds, LS26 8XT.
Salary - competitive depending on experience up to £45k
Hours: Your working week will be Monday to Friday and working hours are as determined by work location. Your normal working week will be 45 hours, including 1 hour of rest breaks each day. However you are expected to be co-operative in working outside these hours if necessary.
Pension: Employee 5%, company matched 3%.
Annual leave: 27 days (excluding bank holidays) per year.
Note that Hybrid working is not promised or offered from the outset of the job to facilitate for integration into the team. Any future hybrid working will need to be agreed with the successful candidate's line-manager.
