Job Description:
The CAD/CAM Design Technician is responsible for quality control and design of orthotic bracing related to digital programs and software. The learning of scoliosis correction using electronic modifications for different styles of bracing is the foundation of this role. This role will create standards for this process and need to have the ability to train others to these standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret order forms received from customers
- Design orthotic braces using CAD/CAM equipment (Rodin Software) to adhere to customer orders
- Provide sound technical advice and trouble-shoot complex cases with clinicians
- Modify design data as necessary to meet customer requirements
- Perform quality assurance of scanning and milling output
- Maintain patient scan database daily and up to date records by documenting and storing appropriately
- Create templates for CAD/CAM design efficiencies
- Ensure proper set-up and routine maintenance of milling machines and software systems
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality standards are met
- Collaborate with team members in various departments including Customer Service and Finishing to ensure high quality results
- Adhere to safety protocols and follow standard operating procedures
Education/Experience:
- Thorough knowledge of anatomy of the spine, head and lower extremity
- Ability to perform essential laboratory work for the processing of CAD products
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
- Bachelors degree required.
- 1-2 years’ experience with CAD/CAM software
