Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication, demonstrating a strong understanding of various welding techniques and safety protocols. As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on metal components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description: MMI industrial and steel needs 3g certified welders to weld on 3/8 -1 ¾ inch thick plate. Welder must be able to run in vertical and flat positions with .045(or greater) flux core wire. These are open root welds and require a back gouge. They also require a preheat up to 150 degrees so experience with a torch is necessary. Welding hood , needle scaler, and chipping hammer are the tools of choice. We will provide safety equipment if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on various materials, ensuring strong and precise welds.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools and machinery, including plasma cutting equipment and calipers, for accurate measurements and cuts.
  • Conduct routine inspections of welded components to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Operate cranes safely to move heavy materials as needed during the welding process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction sites to complete projects efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder or in a similar role within the welding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including soldering and machining processes.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to welding practices.
  • Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Experience working on construction sites is but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
