Chemical Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the Engineering Department
- Responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering activities within the organization.
- Leading a team of engineers, coordinating projects, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering initiatives.
- Managing engineering issues that arise in projects and products by providing technical guidance, proposing timelines and budgets for projects, training employees, and partnering with various departments.
- Manage engineering staff, schedules, and performance
- Prepare and control department budget and forecast operating costs of the department
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and internal team members via meetings and reporting documents
- Identify and initiate process changes to increase efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members on continuous improvement initiatives
- Hire and retain engineering staff through effective vetting of applicants and continuous engagement of employees
- Train engineering personnel on procedures and specifications
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and objectives
- Lead and manage engineering and maintenance personnel
- Other tasks may be assigned as necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
- Knowledge of Thixotropic materials with a good understanding of viscosities.
- Understanding of machinery including but not limited to the Press Brake, Water Jet, Plasma machine is a plus.
- 3 years of previous experience testing and troubleshooting chemical engineering designs, material requisitions.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
- High attention to detail is required
