As a Retail Business Analyst at Chemical Guys/Detail Garage stores, youll play a key role in tracking and optimizing our retail success. Youll dive into weekly and monthly KPIs, offering actionable insights to leadership and store teams, while tracking sales trends, promotional impact, and key product metrics. Youll monitor the performance of campaigns like SMS and promotions, assess ROI, and make recommendations for future improvements. Collaborating with teams across inventory, operations, and finance, youll help forecast sales, analyze financial impacts, and ensure alignment with business goals. Full Job Description:
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly retail KPIs, providing actionable insights to leadership and store teams. Track sales trends, promotional performance, and key product metrics.
Monitor and analyze the performance of active campaigns, including SMS and other promotional activities, to assess ROI and recommend future optimizations.
Develop forward-looking sales and performance forecasts for retail stores based on recent trends, upcoming initiatives, and seasonal considerations.
Assess the financial impact of upcoming initiatives and quantify their expected contribution to the business.
Partner with Inventory Management and Operations to monitor stock levels, shrink, and markdown activity. Provide insights on inventory’s impact on overall business performance.
Collaborate with the Accounting team to track performance against budgets and assist in variance analysis to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, store operations, and finance, to develop and deliver ad-hoc and recurring reports to support business decisions.
Support leadership with ad hoc reporting, dashboards, and analyses to address immediate needs and identify growth opportunities.
Leverage and improve data visualization tools to transition and optimize reporting processes.
Analyze market trends to provide revenue generating / cost saving initiatives.
Deep dive into Detail Stores’ P&L to assess performance vs forecast, budget, and last year.
Create ad-hoc reporting tools and analysis as business dictates.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (XLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables, macros, etc.) and data analysis.
Technical Skills:
Experience in creating, maintaining, and analyzing financial reports using Excel.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data.
Ability to compile and analyze A/B testing results to evaluate performance, providing actionable recommendations to guide business decisions.
Knowledge of Financial Reporting:
Experience preparing budget vs. actual reports, sales forecasts, and variance analysis.
Attention to Detail: Proven track record of delivering high-quality, accurate financial analysis within deadlines.
Communication: Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Power BI: Experience in using Power BI for reporting and data visualization is highly .
Retail Experience: Knowledge of retail-specific financial metrics, such as same-store sales, margin analysis, and inventory turnover, is a plus.
Data Management: Familiarity with database management and the ability to work with large datasets.
Position Location:
Hybrid/Torrance, CA 3 days per week
Work Schedule:
Exempt/Full-time, Monday – Friday with flexibility to work weekends upon request
Compensation:
80-90K Annual
