How will you make an impact?
From fall through spring, your primary responsibility will be safely and accurately formulating agricultural chemical products, such as herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. You will execute all production processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, documentation protocols, and environmental health and safety guidelines. When formulation season slows, you will support our additional product lines: responsibly recycling containers and packaging the products needed for the agriculture industry.
What will you be doing?
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental requirements and objectives.
• Use automated software for inventory management and fleet tracking to ensure quality of input.
• Use appropriate hoses, pumps, meters, scales, and material handling equipment to stage and dispense raw materials, and unload and load bulk tankers.
• Read and interpret batch sheets to accurately mix raw materials using the proper equipment.
• Transfer finished product into drums, totes, tanks, and filling equipment.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport raw materials and finished goods.
• Adhere to production schedules and consistently meet assigned metrics.
• Ensure safe use of equipment, including tagging equipment status and proper start-up/shutdown.
• Maintain clean work area and equipment at all times.
• Periodically conduct quality checks.
• Diagnose common equipment/product issues and communicate them to the maintenance team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to maximize safety and production and minimize downtime.
• Other duties as assigned, including support and leadership across other product lines as needed.
What makes you the right fit?
• You have earned a high school diploma or equivalent (ideally with some college).
• You have at least 2 years of previous formulation experience.
• You are good with numbers and can apply basic mathematical concepts.
• You are detail- and process-oriented.
• You are an effective collaborator who can work with a team to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and walk, as well as lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Environmental Conditions:
Unconditioned Industrial warehouse environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, hardhat, long sleeved shirt and pants, full face respirator, Tyvec suit (when required), and hearing protection. All PPE is company-provided.
