Civil / Architectural Engineer

Job Description

Civil/ Architectural Engineer required for a major offshore wind developer based in England.

Responsibilities.

  • Lead all engineering efforts for the design of civil, structural, building services, landscape, and architectural works necessary for the effective completion of a Land Substation.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist Design Document process of all civil design concepts and philosophies, ensuring they align with employer's requirements.
  • Oversee & evaluate the final design and implementation, which will be undertaken as part of the Front-End Engineering Design by the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation contractor.
  • Monitor and guide the EPCI contractor throughout the detailed design and implementation phases to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes and standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all designs meet the required standards and regulations regarding all civil/architectural scope.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify the quality and progress of construction works.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, including resolving any civil design or construction issues that arise.
  • Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with local, , and international regulations and standards.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.

Requirements

  • Completed studies in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or comparable courses of study.
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of civil, structural, building services, landscape, and architectural works for (onshore) electrical substations and power cables.
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK construction laws, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards. Familiarity with the planning & permitting processes in the UK.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools is a plus.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining health and safety protocols on construction sites.
  • Ability to work independently and pro-actively in a fast-paced project development environment and to meet tight project deadlines.
  • Chartered Engineer status with a recognised institution such as the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
  • Membership with relevant professional bodies.
