Civil Defense Litigation Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced litigation paralegal for a boutique civil defense litigation law firm with a Texas statewide practice. You will work with an amazing group of attorneys and staff in their office located in the Lakeway, TX area (a suburb of Austin). This is a fast-paced litigation desk with a busy docket. Duties will include calendaring to ensure all deadlines are met and appearances are attended, time entry, legal billing, put together hearing & trial notebooks, case research, and work closely with clients. You will also assist with coverage advice on a wide variety of insurance policies, Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses for commercial litigated matters. You will handle federal and state matters such as removal actions by preparing all required documents for federal and state court, including e-filing. Firm tracks billable hours and bonuses monthly based on 150 hours or higher, but the minimum billable hours is 130 monthly.

Job Duties:

• Litigation paralegal with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Must have Texas law and trial experience.
• Cases are assigned to an attorney and a paralegal and you will work the case from inception through close of matter.
• Must have knowledge of federal, State and local filing procedures, process case files for depositions, pretrial hearings and trials, prepare discovery, calendar appointments, meetings etc, disburse, log, calendar mail, work with vendors and clients calls and work as a team player.
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to do time entry and billing using Clio or experience in similar software program.
• Paralegal: 3+ years civil defense litigation supporting attorneys from inception through close of matter needed.
• 40 hours weekly Monday to Friday.
