Civil Design Engineer (Roads)
Job Description
A well-known and highly regarded multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy are looking to appoint an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join their Roads team in Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities:
- \n
- Designing major infrastructure and highway schemes
- Liasing with clients, contractors, and other designers
- Developing and mentoring less experienced team members
- Attending design meetings, site meetings, and carrying out site inspections
- Working on projects with consideration to the agreed project budgetary limits and timescales
- Liasing with statutory bodies

Experience & Qualifications:
- \n
- Bachelor degree or masters level qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline
\n
- \n
- Working towards Chartered Status of an appropriate professional institution e.g. MICE, MCIHT
\n
- \n
- Be technically competent in the use of the UK Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
\n
- \n
- Be technically competent in the use of Bentley MX and/or Civils3D highway design software
\n
- \n
- Experience using and creating 3D models for use in BIM desirable but not essential
\n
- \n
- Experience in the use of other software packages such as WinDes, KeySign/Post, RRRAP)
\n
- \n
- Demonstrate delivery of various design projects within a multi-disciplinary design team
\n
- \n
- Understanding & appreciation of health and safety legislation covering the construction industry
\n
