TRS Staffing Solutions has opportunities for a Civil Engineer to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry. This is a long-term Full-Time opportunity that starts with a one-year contract with possibility of extension.
Salary Range: $50 - 80 /hr depending on level of experience
Key Responsibilities:
Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems
Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
Other duties as assigned
Key Requirements:
3-10 years of civil engineering experience
Indicate strong technical interests and background with civil engineering subjects such as hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, roadwork and earthworks design
Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials is a strong asset.
Relevant practical field experience
Capable to undertake civil engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas: Plant site development earthwork Access road and infrastructure Storm drainage management Underground utilities Water supply and transportation Open channel and pressurized slurry transportation
