About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Design & Technical team. You’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of residential developments, from site appraisal through to final approvals. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in civil engineering within the housebuilding sector, who can manage technical challenges and collaborate across departments to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate detailed road and sewer designs (Section 38, 104 & 278)
- Manage external consultants and oversee foundation and drainage designs
- Produce external levels, private drainage, and civil engineering packages
- Obtain technical approvals and ensure discharge of related planning conditions
- Coordinate utility designs and diversions
- Lead on-site engineering progress meetings
- Assist with site appraisals and value engineering solutions
- Support tender processes with technical input and design advice
Ideal Candidate
- HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Experience with housebuilders or engineering consultancies
- Strong working knowledge of Section 38, 104, and 278 agreements
- Proficient in AutoCAD, PDS, MicroDrainage, and related software
- Clear understanding of highway, drainage, and foundation design standards
- Organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple projects
- Strong communicator and team player with a proactive mindset
