Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our team! The Civil Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects such as levees, floodgates, roads, bridges, buildings, water supply systems, and more. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design & Planning: Develop detailed civil engineering designs, plans, and specifications for construction projects.
· Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations.
· Site Assessments: Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure projects meet design standards and environmental regulations.
· Collaboration: Work with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of various project components.
· Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure the quality of construction work through testing, inspections, and reviewing contractor performance.
· Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise during the design or construction phases, providing solutions that maintain project integrity and minimize delays.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all engineering projects comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations and environmental standards.
· Budgeting & Cost Management: Assist in budgeting for projects, reviewing costs, and proposing cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and safety.
· Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project progress, issues, and milestones for stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (required), Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field ().
· Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
· Minimum 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus in (flood control, transportation, water resources, structural).
· Proficient in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, SAP2000, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, Hydro-CAD, CWALSHT, etc.).
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and clients.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
· Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Skills:
o Familiarity with sustainable and green building practices.
o Experience with environmental and permitting agencies.
o Experience in land development and utility coordination.
Physical Requirements:
- Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. The role may require occasional travel.
- Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
