Civil Engineering Consultant\n\nPosition Type: Contract\n\nLocation: Newcastle\n\nCategories: Construction, Project Management\n\nPM Group requires a site-based Civil Engineering Consultant in Newcastle upon Tyne to oversee a pharmaceutical project.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Acting as a representative for the client in all construction activities on site, New Warehouse, New Packing Hall, New Access Roads & Carparks.\n\n * Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.\n\n * Review of detailed designs, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.\n\n * Analysing project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.\n\n * Ensure work is performed according to design specifications and safety standards.\n\n * Inspect project sites regularly to monitor progress and compliance.\n\n * Provide technical advice and solutions to on-site issues if required.\n\n * Ensure that any changes to projects are implemented correctly.\n\n * Troubleshoot design and construction problems.\n\n * Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.\n\n * Review of necessary documentation and permits.\n\n * Participate in risk assessments and implement health and safety measures.\n\n * Advise on project budgets and resources efficiently with client Project Controls Lead.\n\n * Review of progress reports and documentation.\n\n * Communicate effectively with client, stakeholders, and team members\n\nQualifications\n\n * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a master's degree can be beneficial. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required and knowledge of NEC 4 contract is essential.\n\n * Relevant experience in civil engineering, typically ranging from 2-5 years for entry-level positions and more for senior roles.\n\n * Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and engineering principles.\n\n * Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and teamwork capabilities.\n\n * Understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.\n\nOff-Payroll Working Rules: This role is believed to be inside IR35
