Position Overview
As a Civil Estimator, you will play a key role in developing comprehensive estimates for high-profile infrastructure projects. This role is fully office-based and requires a local candidate who will work closely with the Vice President of Estimating to ensure project accuracy and success. This position is perfect for estimators with a background in large-scale civil projects such as bridges, highways, railways, airports, dams, tunnels, and transit systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridge, highway, railway, airport, dam, tunnel, and transit projects.
- Thoroughly review and analyze contract proposals, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
- Conduct quantity take-offs for unit price and lump sum project bids, summarizing in Excel.
- Create production crews and include specific equipment and materials in estimates using HCSS software.
- Collaborate with project owners, material suppliers, and subcontractors for pre-bid and post-bid negotiations.
- Participate in joint venture team reviews on major projects to finalize comprehensive cost proposals.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil projects.
- Experience estimating projects with values of $100M+.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with project stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively within a team to deliver cohesive cost proposals.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., design/build, CMAR) .
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $150,000 - $200,000, depending on experience.
