Civil - Geotechnical

As a Geotechnical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in managing some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects! Our geotechnical team works on a variety of transportation, energy, development, and natural resources projects.

Responsibilities include:

Planning field programs, conducting technical briefings with field staff, and project management tasks including budgeting and client communications.

Performing engineering analyses and preparing technical reports.

Conducting regular site visits, overseeing field explorations and construction observations.

Mentoring and overseeing the work of junior staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead or coordinate the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction observation projects. Ensure that work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications as well as in accordance with safety guidelines.

Assist with training junior technical and technician staff.

Complete engineering analyses and calculations including pavement design, slope stability, settlement, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, and seismic design.

Lead the of technical reports including completion of routine reports, figures, tables, etc.; assist senior staff in completing portions of large, complex reports.

Lead the of construction plans and specifications for slope stabilization, soil nail walls, soldier pile and tieback walls, and ground improvement projects.

Lead project management tasks such as attending project meetings, budget and schedule planning, staffing and task assignments, deliverable preparation, and proposal development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree with a Geotechnical Engineering focus strongly .

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience is required.

At least one year of project management experience.

PE license required.

Professional-level verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

All employees are subject to completing a background check, reference check, and pre-employment physicals and drug/alcohol testing.

Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities and do heavy work including exerting up to 50 pounds of force on occasion.

Able to perform consistent work on a PC.

Ability to travel for short-term and long-term assignments as needed.

All employees are responsible for conducting their work in a safe manner, including identifying potential safety hazards and reporting them to the designated project manager in a timely manner.

Salary and Benefits:

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Spokane WA, is $80,220 – $100,930. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. Employees may also be eligible for an annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
