Job Description:
As a Civil Litigation Paralegal at Haynes Law, you will work closely with attorneys in all phases of litigation, with a focus on personal injury and civil rights cases under Section 1983. You will assist in managing case files, drafting legal documents, coordinating discovery, and communicating with clients. Your role is essential to ensuring smooth litigation processes and successful case outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Manage case files and maintain organized case documentation.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorneys.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness preparation.
  • Review and summarize medical records for personal injury cases.
  • Assist in drafting settlement agreements and managing lien resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a civil litigation paralegal (personal injury and Section 1983 experience ).
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and court procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Strong communication skills and client-facing experience.
  • Familiarity with legal software (experience with MyCase is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field is but not required.
