Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning Group
Job Description
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Richmond, VA office location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis;
Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation;
Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems;
Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work;
Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates;
Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties;
Communicate with client staff and internal design team; and
Communicate results/recommendations to the general public.
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field;
Ideal candidates would have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning;
Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential;
Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is ;
Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience ;
Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge ;
Experience working with DOT and/or localities; and
PE/EIT .
