Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA Civil Site Professional Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, administration of, and permitting construction projects related to land development, infrastructure, and public works. This role typically involves collaborating with architects, contractors, and government agencies to ensure the project meets technical, environmental, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

Site Design and Analysis:

  • Develop and review site plans, grading, and drainage designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Perform hydrology and stormwater management calculations.

Project Management:

  • Oversee all stages of site development projects, from concept to completion.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, invoicing and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure designs adhere to local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Prepare documentation, applications and reports for permits and approvals.

Field Oversight:

  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design specifications are followed.
  • Troubleshoot on-site issues and propose solutions in real time.

Technical Documentation:

  • Draft detailed engineering reports, specifications, and contracts.
  • Prepare drawings and layouts using AutoCAD 2022, Civil 3D, or similar tools.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients.
  • Present project proposals, updates, and final deliverables.

Skills and Qualifications:
 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (Soil Evaluator is plus)Experience:

  • 5+ years in civil site design, land development, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with software like AutoCAD, HydroCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other hydraulic modeling tools.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater design and management.
  • Familiarity with zoning, land use, and environmental regulations.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office work (design and documentation) and on-site fieldwork (construction monitoring).
  • Interaction with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, architects, and environmental consultants.

  • Timely completion of projects within budget.
