The types of clients we work for include: Heavy Industrial FacilitiesPipelines and RefineriesMining and Mineral ProcessingMunicipal & UtilitiesWater treatment Your Role: We are currently searching for a Civil/Structural Engineer-In-Training to join our team in Calgary. You will work under the supervision of the Civil/Structural Engineering Manager along with other engineers, designers, and support staff. Responsibilities: Perform structural analyses and design of industrial structures including buildings, equipment supports, pipe supports, and foundations with or without the aid of computer softwareSupport engineering design per applicable codes and standards, including review of cross-discipline design drawingsDevelopment of engineering work packages, contract documents, and other project-related documentation as requiredDevelop material takeoffs and support with project specificationsPerform site visits and provide construction support, including assessment of existing client assetsEffective use of QA tools and completes checklists and submits them to the project lead as requiredAdherence to all health and safety policies and guidelines Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural EngineeringActive Member-in-Training status in AlbertaExperience with industrial structural engineering is an assetProject coordination capabilities with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget is an assetExperience in using structural analysis/design software (STAAD Pro and S-Frame)Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Navisworks, Microsoft Word and ExcelExposure to Civil 3D and Civil earthwork design or construction is an assetWorking knowledge of the requirements of CSA Standards A23.1 and A23.3 Concrete Materials and Methods of Concrete Construction / Design of Concrete Structures, as well as CSA S16 Design and Construction of Steel StructuresAbility to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basisExcellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at multiple levels including project stakeholders and clients ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONA requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)Periodic travel within Canada to client sites and regional Tetra Tech offices may be required. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing and background checks may be required for our client worksites.
