Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job DescriptionCloud Infrastructure Engineer | Windows, AWS, Terraform | Media & TV

My client is a world-leading independent production and distribution group that produces some of the most popular TV programmes in the world.

They are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will support circa 30 internal companies with approximately 1,500 users + 100s of freelancers. You will operate in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. You will be working for a fun organisation, -focused and dress-down culture based in the Holborn / Tottenham Court Road location. The role is on a hybrid model with non-negotiable in-office requirements, currently every Tuesday.

You will work alongside 3 other senior engineers, and 2 project-based engineers reporting to the IT Manager.

A bit of a unique opportunity here as you will be a ‘modern Windows engineer’ as our client is hosting 95% of their infrastructure in AWS. You will be involved in project work as well as dealing with 3rd line support tickets. There’s a separate 1st / 2nd line support team so you won’t have to tackle any of these tickets.

You will be working with the infrastructure team that’s predominantly cloud-based. It’s a unique setup being a Windows/Microsoft environment inside the AWS ecosystem. Everything is glued together using Terraform so there’s great tooling at work here.

Non-negotiable requirements - Must have 2/3:

    \n
  • AWS – solid experience is an absolute must
  • \n

  • Okta & Okta Workflows
  • \n

  • Terraform
  • \n

Other key technologies you will be working on heavily:

    \n
  • Windows Server (2016-22) admin skills. The server estate is hosted inside AWS in an IaaS setup
  • \n

  • Office 365 / SharePoint
  • \n

  • Scripting (Python used)
  • \n

Projects:

    \n
  • Migrating the last on-prem servers into AWS/O365. These are mainly file servers that need to be migrated and architected into the AWS estate to remove the last remaining on-prem servers.
  • \n

  • Good O365 / SharePoint knowledge will be really helpful for this
  • \n

  • Experience with tools like AvePoint, ManageEngine etc will be helpful for the Windows = AWS/SharePoint migrations
  • \n

  • The eventual goal is to migrate all infrastructure into Lambada.
  • \n

Core duties:

    \n
  • Going to be doing a lot of Windows VM building, EC2 or AWS and running through a problem with them.
  • \n

  • Working on our client’s 100 circa Windows VMs over 6 different accounts + using AppStream and RDS for databases + an EC2 environment of over 100+ services
  • \n

  • S3 backups and storage
  • \n

  • FSX cloud storage
  • \n

  • OKTA is central to their hub so lots of Okta and Okta Workflows work including automation projects
  • \n

  • Windows server upgrades
  • \n

  • Easy onboarding for newly acquired businesses
  • \n

  • Security access process
  • \n

There’s no end of projects, and you will be working with a truly awesome team that you’ll enjoy going to work with each day!

Benefits:

  • \n

  • 25 Days' holiday
  • \n

  • Health care
  • \n

  • Pension Contribution
  • \n

  • Free fresh fruit and office snacks
  • \n

  • Training opportunities with open access to Udemy
  • \n

Apply ASAP if you would relish the opportunity to work in an exciting production environment alongside creative experts in the field.
