We’re looking for a Cloud Services Specialist (aka The Cloud Architect) to manage and optimize cloud services, ensuring they meet organizational needs and empower teams to work smarter and faster.

As a Cloud Services Specialist at our client, you’ll work closely with IT, DevOps, and business units to create a robust cloud infrastructure, implement best practices, and oversee cloud resources. Your role will be essential in providing a secure, scalable environment that supports innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure:
  • Architect and deploy cloud solutions using providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. You’ll ensure systems are designed for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Manage and Optimize Cloud Resources:
    • Monitor and manage cloud resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency. You’ll analyze usage patterns, recommend improvements, and implement resource optimizations to reduce overhead.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance in the Cloud:
    • Implement security best practices, access controls, and compliance measures to safeguard cloud environments. You’ll work to ensure data privacy, regulatory compliance, and secure access management.
  • Collaborate on Cloud Migration and Integration Projects:
    • Plan and execute migrations of on-premises systems to the cloud and integrate cloud services with existing infrastructure. You’ll support smooth transitions with minimal downtime.
  • Automate Cloud Operations and Workflows:
    • Use automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual tasks. You’ll develop scripts and workflows that improve deployment speed and reliability.
  • Monitor Performance and Troubleshoot Issues:
    • Continuously monitor cloud performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to incidents. You’ll ensure high availability and implement disaster recovery strategies for business continuity.
  • Stay Updated on Cloud Innovations and Best Practices:
    • Keep abreast of the latest in cloud technology, tools, and trends. You’ll apply new methodologies to enhance performance, security, and scalability.

    Requirements

    Required Skills:

    • Cloud Platform Proficiency: Extensive experience with one or more cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. You have a solid understanding of cloud services, including compute, storage, and networking.
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automated provisioning and configuration.
    • Cloud Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud security practices, including and access management, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
    • Cost Management and Optimization: Ability to analyze and manage cloud usage to optimize costs without sacrificing performance.
    • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving cloud-related issues efficiently.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience in cloud services may be considered.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are advantageous.

    Experience Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience in cloud services or cloud infrastructure management, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud environments.
    • Experience with cloud migration projects and integrating cloud services with on-premises infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
