Cockpit Rig Operations Engineer \n\nContract \n\nGaydon\n\nDivision: Engineering Operations\n\nInside / Outside IR35: INSIDE\nSalary: £28.18 Umbrella / PAYE\n\n*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*\n\nAbout the company\n\nI am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based in Whitley, who are seeking a Cockpit Rig Operations Engineer to join their team\n\nPosition Description\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen to be at the forefront of a new Infotainment rig testing strategy.\n\nYou will be part of the creation, maintenance and expansion of centrally managed, bookable and remotely accessible rig farm test assets.\nThe role is laboratory based and requires hands on skills in electrical, electronic systems and also strong IT skills, working under a lead engineer.\nYou will support with the design, build and maintenance of new infotainment rigs to align with the Clients' new electrical architecture.\nYou will support all area of infotainment and infotainment partners including, integration, navigation, component owners and external partners with collaboration with other teams across the Client, constantly seeking process and design improvements to provide our customers with world class test and integration platforms.\nYou will be a pivotal element of the labs development and future expansion supporting the increasing demand for effective software and component verification. \n\nSkills Required:\n\nElectrical circuits\nElectrical fault finding\nSoftware flashing \n\nKey Accountabilities and Responsibilities \n\nCreation, maintenance and expansion of bookable, shareable and remotely accessible infotainment test rigs\nAddition of test assets to the Clients' networks for internal, partners and external customer use\nLead collaboration between the Client rigs team and network team to implement their network solution for our test assets Implement remote accessibility from global locations to maximise usage\nSupport rig farm strategy rollout in other global locations Support delivery and reporting of electrical test rig activities.\nRead architecture drawings and extract required info to create working Infotainment test properties and upgrade with new vehicle line specific HW Pro-actively assist in creation and refinement of activity processes and procedures in the Electrical Test facility.\nTo include rig building, upgrades and maintenance\nRig build planning and construction in line with accepted customer requests\nCorrectional maintenance skills on electrical test properties\nEngage with the implementation of all Health & Safety, ISO14001, ISO45001, TS16949, COSHH & Lean procedures and standards as required by the business.\nEnsure high levels of Facility tidiness and cleanliness at all times in line with company process (5s, Office Standards)\nUndertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested \n\nExperience Required:\n\nSoftware flashing.\nRig build and maintenance.\nProject planning.\nQualified electrical engineer preferably with degree or other suitable qualifications \n\nExperience :\n\nPython scripting or similar.\nNetworking experience \n\nAdditional Information:\n\nHybrid Working: NoWhy work through Contechs?\n\nContechs is a leading Automotive, Design, Engineering, Technology and Innovation Recruitment Consultancy.
