Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing/ Geotechnical at Gessner Engineering, you will assist the Department in their daily operations. Your specific responsibilities are commensurate with experience and the expected learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Aid team in field service requests
- Assisting lab crew with performing lab testing.
- Collaborate with peers to review and request or provide guidance on appropriate project direction
- Draft lab and field reports for project manager review and approval
- Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other design disciplines such as civil, structural, and external sub-consultants and clients, as necessary, for project coordination.
- Provide regular project updates and a forecast of obstacles to a supervising project manager
Skills and special requirements/licensing:
- Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions across varying terrain
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years
- At least 18 years of or older, to be insurable on our auto insurance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
- Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism.
- High attention to detail
- Ability to interact with clients, managers, and employees with a high level of professionalism.

- Be collaborative. Must have a positive attitude, work well with co-workers and clients

Availability
- Spring/Fall Interns are required to maintain consistent ability to work 16+ hours per week in minimum 4-hour increments
- Summer Interns are required to maintain consistent ability to work 35+ hours per week
- Must be enrolled in fewer than 16 academic credit hours
