Responsibilities:
- Field testing of Structural Steel for compliance with AISC, AWS, and/or project specifications.
- Review of project documents in preparation of field observations on construction sites.
- Interpret code and/or quality control requirements.
- Documentation of field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance or deviation from project plans and specifications.
- Use of aerial lifts, ladders, and elevated platforms to conduct daily inspections.
Requirements:
- ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification.
- Experience with observing Structural Steel bolting and welded connections.
- Understanding of Special Inspections, tracking what has been inspected, and tracking of items noted as discrepancies.
- Ability to explain and interpret code and/or quality control requirements.
