Title: Commercial Business Development
Reports to: VP of Sales
Job Description: A highly competitive results driven entrepreneur is needed to skillfully grow the commercial department and building product of our architectural hardware business. Must be a hungry, charismatic closer, who is skilled in negotiation and has a strong understanding of the construction industry and/or building engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to create strategic business growth plans.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Closer with proven track record
- Strong building technical skills and knowledge of building standards
- Utilize superior listening skills.
- Become an expert on the materials, goods and services provided by Feeney, Inc. and its affiliates.
- Listen and consult with the commercial sales team to understand engineering intricacies.
- Meet /Exceed minimum sales quotas as defined by Feeney.
- Work with purchasing department to order special items for clients.
- Attend marketing events and trade shows as needed. Travel as needed and required.
- Learn and understand company policies and procedures as it applies to your role. i.e. lien notifications, credit applications, contracts, special orders, tax codes, PO’s etc.
- Special Projects as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to quickly dissect large commercial architectural drawing sets including specification manuals to gather relevant information.
- Ability to recognize potential engineering requirements and work with design team to offer effective solutions to meet project needs and specific application.
- Superior organization skills, sense of urgency and ability to effectively prioritize many tasks, objectives, and people at any one time.
- Basic understanding of Building Code and the relation to Feeney’s product line.
- Technically competent on basic computer programs such as word, excel, data entry, email programs, and company CRM/ERP system, Feeney uses Netsuite.
- Previous construction/contracting experience a plus due to the technical nature of the business.
- A humble leader who encourages people through collaboration and teamwork.
Education & Experience:
- College or Certification in Engineering
- 5+ years relevant work experience and/or background
- Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Commercial Construction, Sr. Estimator, Building, Technical Knowhow
