Commercial Consultancy Advisor - Nuclear

Location - Bristol and Bridgwater.Project: Providing crucial engineering and design review services to a new generation nuclear reactor build with a combined value in excess of 3 billion Euros. To deliver this key scope of work side by side with the contract project managers and, together, manage closely the interfaces with engineering as well as other areas of the project ensuring that governance and stakeholder management is diligently always complied with.You will be responsible for contract management of a large section of the scope covered by two high value contracts. Both contracts are administered under NEC3 PSC terms and in accordance with regulatory and governance requirements. Our team is based across offices in Bristol and Bridgwater but with a continued embracing of hybrid working principles.Your responsibilities will include: Helping to manage and develop a commercial team including establishing clear roles,responsibilities, and accountabilities.Managing the assistants, apprentices and commercial support officers under their control orwithin the wider team.Ensuring all principal accountabilities for the contract commercial team are implemented inaccordance with commercial procedures.Adopting the role of intelligent customer, ensuring that stakeholder expectations are metregarding commercial probity, value and that the supply chain is treated fairly and equitably.Leading in the engagement with the supply chain based on collaborative working principlesand applying the skills of supporting, coaching, enabling and facilitating team membersthrough change; thereby building and maintaining effective relationships with keystakeholders.Managing a key scope of work in the commercial management of contracts during theexecution phase in particular the management of change via compensation events.Overseeing contract commercial relationships. Work with collaborative behaviours in a spiritof mutual trust and cooperation. Seeking to achieve equitable outcomes for all parties tofacilitate early commercial close out of contentious topics.Managing contracts and being a direct interface with the supply chain to ensure anembedded nuclear safety culture exists. About youYou are educated to a degree level. You are a member of the RICS/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body. You have a track record of administering successful contracts possesses the skills to act as a deputy. You have highly developed commercial skills and a demonstrable ability to makesound decisions on matters of significant financial value. You have a good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change, and claim management.You have a track record working with NEC and FIDIC contracts in the power construction industry and major projects.You have knowledge of UK Law and its impact upon the contract and commercial function is essential. You are familiar with nuclear site licence conditions, the nuclear baseline philosophy, and the UK regulatory framework. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or consultancy background in the nuclear sector and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
