Commercial Director

We are partnering with a well-established residential developer to recruit a Commercial Director to lead their Building Safety Division on a contract basis. Based in Essex, this high-impact role will see you take charge of a team of 12 Quantity Surveyors of varying experience levels, driving performance, accountability, and delivery across commercial operations.



Key Responsibilities:



* Provide strategic oversight of all commercial functions within the Building Safety Division.



* Lead and mentor a team of 12 Quantity Surveyors, ensuring effective management of cost, contracts, and commercial risk.



* Manage and advise on complex claims and disputes across the supply chain.



* Collaborate closely with technical, legal, and operational teams to uphold safety and regulatory compliance.



* Drive cost-efficiency, performance metrics, and continuous improvement across the department.



Ideal Candidate:



* Proven experience as a Commercial Director within the contracting sector—preferably with exposure to residential projects.



* Strong understanding of claims, disputes, and supply chain management.



* A resilient, dynamic, and delivery-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
