Post Title – Gas Engineer\n\nPost reports to - Technical Manager\n\nPurpose of job –\n\nOur business is organised in regional teams of up to 20 commercial engineers who work in concert with our central technical support team to deliver, service, repair, maintain and install the full spectrum of commercial building services. You and your colleagues will be the customer facing powerhouse of our business within your region with a portfolio of key clients and sites.\n\nPrincipal Accountability –\n\n * Inspecting and maintaining gas appliances, central heating plant and plant room equipment.\n\n * Attending, including out of hours, reactive, diagnostic and emergency repair calls including liaison with colleagues and suppliers to obtain information on parts, costs and lead times.\n\n * Installing and carrying out site works associated with the installation of gas appliances, central heating plant and plant room equipment.\n\n * Reactive attendance to emergency callouts on 1 in 4 callout rota.\n\n * Where appropriate to do so, providing our site-based client teams with guidance on the operation and management of their assets and advising them when their plant needs to be replaced or up-graded rather than repaired.\n\n * Providing data to support the creation of quotations (including equipment, parts and labour).\n\n * To deliver our contracted performance targets and CMS expectations including:\n\n * Health & Safety\n\n * Work standards.\n\n * PACE - Profit after controllable expenses\n\n * Conformity with our core processes and workflows\n\n * To be the Subject Matter Expert for one of your regional team’s key technical competencies.\n\n * Be an enthusiastic ambassador for our business, consistently living our values, exceeding the expectations of our customers, promoting our brand and delivering the bottom line, contributing to the wider business by committing to culture of openness, continuous improvement, collaborative working and interdependence with other teams and team members.\n\nNecessary experience and attributes –\n\nGood interpersonal skills.\n\nThe ability to work independently and take initiative.\n\nAbility to work as an individual and as part of a team.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nExcellent time management and organisational skills.\n\nOutstanding customer service skills.\n\nA friendly and professional telephone manner.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.\n\nStrong attention to detail.\n\nComputer Literate.\n\nGeneral safety responsibility –\n\nYou are responsible for your own health and safety while at work and for the safety of any other person who may be affected by your acts or omissions. You are responsible for:\n\nComplying with the requirements of the Company’s Policy Statements.\n\nMaintaining a sustained focus on employee safety and others affected by all works.\n\nComplying with the detailed safety responsibilities as set out within the Company’s Business Management System.\n\nSpecific Safety Responsibility –\n\nResponsible for:\n\nCommunication\n\nTraining\n\nAccident Reporting / Investigation\n\nProvision and Use of Work Equipment\n\nDocument Control\n\nHealth\n\nPersonal Protective Equipment\n\nFirst Aid and Fire Arrangements\n\nEnvironmental Aspects\n\nSpecific training and courses applicable to this role –\n\nAble to pass a DBS check for relevant convictions[1]\n\nCurrent ACS Qualifications / Commercial gas safe registered plumber\n\nCommercial Gas Qualifications/ Domestic Gas Qualifications/ Industrial Gas Qualifications.\n\nGas Catering Qualifications/ Gas LPG Qualifications.\n\nExperienced in Commercial Mechanical Services, Heating and Hot Water Services\n\nCurrent Driving License and able to work in the UK
