Commercial Gas Engineer

Let's cut to the chase - we need a proper Commercial Gas Engineer who knows their way around a plantroom. You'll be covering London, the M25 area, and occasionally venturing into East Anglia. Schools, offices, care homes - you'll see them all.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Your days will involve fixing and maintaining those complicated commercial heating systems, diagnosing faults that have probably been misdiagnosed twice already, and conducting safety checks as regulations demand. Yes, there's paperwork involved - timesheets and service reports don't fill themselves out. You'll be working independently across different sites, and you'll need to take your turn on the on-call rota (roughly 1 in 9 weeks).

What You'll Need to Have

You'll need at least 3 years' experience with commercial gas systems and the battle scars to prove it. Those all-important ACS Commercial Gas qualifications are non-negotiable, along with actual knowledge of plantrooms, boilers and controls. A full UK driving licence is obviously essential, as is the ability to solve problems without phoning a friend. Some electrical knowledge wouldn't hurt either.

What's In It For You

Up to £55,000 for a 40-hour week

Door-to-door travel pay

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Overtime - 1.5x evenings/Saturdays, 2x Sundays/Bank Holidays

On call rota (1 in 9) approx £4,000 extra per annum

Use of company van for personal stuff if needed

Job security with a company that's been around long enough to know what they're doing

All the tools and kit you need (no bringing your own spanners)

The company's been in the HVAC game for over 20 years and has a solid reputation. They're not going anywhere.

What's Next:

If this sounds like you, don't hesitate to apply! We appreciate that your CV may not be up to date - no problem, just send us what you have, and we can go from there.
