Responsibilities:

• Installation:

  • Install, connect, and test HVAC systems in commercial buildings.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints and specifications to ensure proper installation.
  • Install electrical wiring and controls for HVAC systems.
  • Fit and solder refrigerant lines, ducts, and pipes.

• Maintenance and Repair:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions.
  • Perform regular maintenance and tune-ups to ensure system efficiency.
  • Replace or repair damaged or worn-out components.

• System Upgrades and Retrofits:

  • Upgrade outdated HVAC systems to improve energy efficiency.
  • Retrofit existing systems to meet new building codes or client specifications.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for permits and inspections.
  • Report to supervisors and project managers on job progress and any issues encountered.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Work with other construction professionals, including electricians and plumbers.
  • Supervise and train junior HVAC technicians and apprentices.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Perform tasks that require physical strength and stamina.
