We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our growing team, serving the Greater New Jersey area. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician with strong technical abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to quality service and teamwork.
Our technicians are provided company vehicles (cars/vans) which they can take home daily, offering flexibility in where they are based.
About the Role
The HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role requires a strong understanding of control systems, equipment operations, and system sequences. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to maintain accurate records, and can communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and internal teams.
A clean driving record is required, as this position includes the use of a company vehicle to travel to client sites across the service territory.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installation: Install replacement equipment and parts following manufacturer specifications, ensuring all warranties remain valid.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, adhering to company and manufacturer standards.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Analyze, diagnose, and repair HVACR malfunctions, ensuring compliance with EPA standards and best practices.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete all required documentation, including:
- Timesheets
- Expense reports
- Service reports
- Purchase card logs
- System Testing: Conduct performance tests and analyze system data to ensure proper functioning, while recommending improvements where needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all electrical and mechanical safety standards, participating in safety training and group meetings as required.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Serve as a technical lead on jobs, providing mentorship and fostering strong customer relationships.
- Vehicle & Tool Maintenance: Ensure all tools and company vehicles are maintained and in good working order.
QualificationsEducation:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Completion of HVAC Apprenticeship Program is .
Experience:
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience working on commercial or industrial HVAC equipment and systems.
- Experience servicing clients throughout the New Jersey and neighboring areas.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and electrical systems, with the ability to read blueprints, technical schematics, and specifications.
Skills:
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, including safety policies and technical manuals.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to work with various units of measurement.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Licenses/Certifications:
- EPA Universal Refrigeration License (required).
- Additional certifications/licenses may be required depending on specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
