Summary:
Provides commercial lines support in maintaining, expanding, and servicing assigned accounts.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts
  • Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts
  • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts
  • Review commercial applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers
  • Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and cancellations
  • Validate coverages and ratings policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc.
  • Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests Process premium finance agreements as needed
  • Prepare billings and/or invoices on a timely basis\
  • Advise accounting of the appropriate posting of moneys received on assigned accounts Assist in the collection of premiums and audits
  • Provide back-up to other Account Managers as assigned
  • Maintain expiration records
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with the various company marketing representatives and underwriters
  • Maintain favorable relationship with clients, producers, and employees
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of commercial lines coverages and rating
  • Perform clerical functions including, but not limited to submitting and sending faxes, proofreading and photocopying documents
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Minimum Education

  • High school diploma
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • 2 years of service experience in the insurance industry
  • 4-40 state license
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-20 insurance license
  • Industry software experience

Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
1. Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
2. Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
3. Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
4. Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day. (This role has hybrid ability once the preliminary 90 day period has been completed.)
