Commercial Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking an energetic, customer-oriented maintenance engineer to ensure that all of our current and prospective tenants receive an excellent experience at our property. You'll be in charge of the building's maintenance and preventative programs daily to ensure people's enjoyment, health, and safety. Compensation:

$70,000 - $75,000

Responsibilities:

  • Keep an open line of communication with other team members and staff
  • Remain on-call in case of emergencies by keeping a phone on hand
  • Observe all engineering safety rules and criteria
  • Complete all work orders and fix maintenance problems promptly
  • Collaborate with other personnel who will help you with maintenance tasks

Qualifications:

  • Driver’s license and outstanding driving record is necessary
  • The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more is required
  • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent GED
  • Must have strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • You will need 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance role
  • Ability to use web-based software, including facilities maintenance software
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
  • Manage HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Oversee building security and access control mechanisms
  • Monitor and log energy and water consumption metrics
  • Coordinate with contractors and other service providers for large-scale projects
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages or water leaks
  • Maintain and update maintenance logs and work orders
  • Assist in space planning and renovation activities


Building Engineer Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Professional certification such as CEFP or PMP
  • Experience in managing large-scale building projects
  • Knowledge of older HVAC technologies
  • Proficiency in building management systems (BMS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work on-call shifts and respond to emergencies
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in building systems or a related field
