We currently have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team based in Bournemouth. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

About the role

As our Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the sales, marketing (tenders, switching and onboarding) and added value services functions. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial to ensure that the day-to-day running is aligned to the business strategy.

As our Commercial Manager you will manage, lead and support the respective managers to run their departments efficiently and effectively, encouraging best practice and collaboration between their direct reports and the wider PWS team to provide excellent services to new and existing customers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing, leading and supporting a team of department managers to ensure the smooth running of the business aligned to the business strategy and targets
  • Building and sustaining long lasting customer relationships
  • Bringing in new business from existing and new customers
  • Communicating the customer proposition through tenders and wider marketing
  • Taking responsibility for monitoring and reporting on commercial performance including margin realisation
  • Supporting the Head of Commercial to develop and maintain relationships with TPI’s/Brokers
  • Developing and coaching direct reports, carry out regular 1-2-1’s and team meetings
  • Ensuring that procedures and policies are being adhered to
  • Working with the department managers you will look to optimise day to day activities to enhance profitability
  • Working with the Head of Commercial support the development of the wider business strategy, annual business plans and targets
  • Overseeing the performance reporting for the function for various audiences
  • Keep up-to-date and report on market conditions and competitor activity, using insights to identify opportunities
  • Overseeing and supporting wider process improvements to maximise growth
  • Working closely with the operations team through tender processes to ensure the business understands the needs of potential clients, ensuring a smooth transition to reinforce client relationships, reputation and customer service
  • Developing the skills and knowledge within the business to enhance and maintain capabilities for continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

  • Educated to Degree level or able to demonstrate working to that level in similar job roles
  • Sales and marketing experience at a mid to senior level
  • Held management and leadership roles that demonstrate you are able to oversee multiple departments and deliver against business targets aligned to the company strategy
  • Recent experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Can demonstrate flexibility and work in environment that is constantly changing
  • Experience of managing various stakeholder relationships at a mid to senior level
