Commercial Manager
Our client, a well-established, family-run construction company based in Kirkcaldy, is looking to appoint a Commercial Manager on a permanent basis. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for high-quality work, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a growing and respected business.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring profitability, cost control, and compliance. Working closely with the senior management team, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Leading pre-construction activities, including tenders, procurement, and cost planning
Developing and implementing commercial strategies to support business growth
Managing budgets, cost control, and identifying financial risks
Negotiating, agreeing, and administering contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Overseeing subcontractor and supply chain relationships to ensure smooth project delivery
Monitoring financial performance and reporting monthly KPIs to directors
Resolving commercial disputes and ensuring contract compliance
Supporting business development by identifying opportunities and securing contracts
What We're Looking For
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Proven experience in estimating and quantity surveying within the construction industry
Experience working on framework agreements
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage project finances effectively
Comprehensive knowledge of contract management and standard methods of measurement
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
