NonStop's Client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Commercial Programme Director to lead on infrastructure commercial solutions. This role will report directly to the Group Commercial Director, overseeing a team of 50-60 commercial professionals to deliver high-value projects within a complex, regulated environment. You will manage and mentor a team, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and steer the commercial strategy to meet ambitious infrastructure goals.

Key Responsibilities

\n


* Team Leadership: Direct and inspire a high-performing team of commercial professionals, fostering collaboration and development within a complex, high-value program.
* Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate with programme managers to align commercial strategies with business needs, translating them into effective procurement and risk management approaches.
* Commercial Governance: Oversee commercial risk management, reporting, and lead Infrastructure Commercial Boards to ensure senior stakeholders are informed and aligned.
* Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong strategic supplier partnerships, focusing on performance outcomes and quality.
* Contract Operations and Change Management: Ensure contractual compliance with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, manage contract changes, and address risk mitigation measures.
* Dispute Resolution: Lead strategic dispute resolution efforts to protect AWE's commercial interests.

Key Projects

The Commercial Programme Director will manage a robust £400m annual program across five main areas:
1. Building Works: Upgrades to existing structures and systems
2. Civil Works: Construction of new car parks and facility extensions
3. Equipment Re-kits: Replacing critical, outdated equipment
4. Utilities Works: Enhancing electrical, gas, and steam networks
5. Demolition & Decommissioning: Safe removal and disposal of hazardous assets

Candidate Profile

\n


The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, team-building expertise, and a proven ability to deliver complex commercial solutions in an infrastructure context.
* Experience: 15+ years in commercial roles with a minimum of 5 years leading large teams and managing complex transactions.
* Leadership: Demonstrated success in creating and leading high-performance teams, ideally with experience in transformation or outsourcing projects.
* Commercial Background: Proven career progression in commercial roles, with expertise in infrastructure projects. Prior experience with NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4) is beneficial.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Able to confidently present to C-suite and board members, with a high level of gravitas and strategic insight.
* Security Clearance: SC clearance is essential (or the ability to obtain it).
