This role will look at both Commercial Project Management and Contracts Management and we are particularly looking for people with skills and experience in Contracts Management. Reporting to the Finance director, this role will support accountable business partners in mastering contractual challenges at all stages of the bid process in close cooperation with Legal Counsel and Project Management. Additionally, you will be responsible for the completion of all commercial/financial related tasks that contribute to our exciting projects success.
You create impact by:
- Ensures the compliance with the internal guidelines for all commercial aspects as well as external regulations.
- Ensures the accuracy of project books and records, including recording of such in the appropriate systems
- Ensures support for the Project Manager by reporting on financial results, according to set targets to optimise the project gross profit, cash flow and assets and financing instruments.
- Actively communicates with customer's commercial representatives and manages solving of commercial issues.
- Supports the PM in identifying, evaluating and assessing risk and opportunities, strategies and response activities – taking over the full responsibility in this regard with respect to all commercial risks and opportunities.
- Represents the project in the relevant decision boards internally and externally.
- Agrees targets with commercial project staff and delegates defined responsibilities and authority.
- Leads commercial project team members to act in line with internal Business Conduct Guidelines and establishes a culture of trust and integrity.
- Analyses and comments on tenders, contracts and contract related documents and gives proactive advice.
- Participates in contract negotiations and in formulation/implementation of negotiation strategy.
- Develops, implements and regularly reviews the claim strategy with regards to customers, sub-suppliers and partners together with project management.
- Captures internal data and prepares presentations and analyses and contributes to standardization of contracts and improvement processes.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have previous experience in a similar role
- A dynamic individual who can adapt to an environment where the customer expectation & type of project we deliver can change rapidly.
- You will have a detailed understanding of project controlling, contract & subcontract management.
- Experience of working with project teams supporting multiple projects and project managers.
- Confident communication and presentation skills, with a customer centric focus.
- Experience negotiating NEC or JCT contracts with customers
