Commissioning Engineer Role
Employment Type: Permanent full-time or contract (Outside IR35)

Working Hours: 08:00-17:00
Location: Site-based with some planning and preparation from home in SW England
Role Overview
* Commissioning of installed plants in the UK.
* Semi-autonomous planning and preparation of commissioning method statements and risk assessments.
* Commissioning and testing of mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Training client personnel and providing post-commissioning support.
* Writing and compiling O&M manuals, training materials, and commissioning records.
* Liaising with Engineering and Projects teams to share best practices and improve procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop commissioning plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Commission mechanical and electrical equipment (e.g., pumps, blowers, valves, instruments) and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
* Test PLC and HMI software, report bugs to systems integrator.
* Coordinate with Project Engineers and clients to manage multiple projects.
* Write and issue O&M manuals and training materials.
* Manage snag lists and resolve issues with suppliers and engineers.
* Maintain commissioning records on the company's document management system.
* Provide troubleshooting and support post-commissioning.
* Attend meetings with team members and clients.
* Communicate best practices and lessons learned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Experience in commissioning mechanical and electrical equipment in the water industry.
* Electrical qualifications are advantageous.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills in English.
* Ability to work from home or office and liaise with various stakeholders.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and potentially to Europe and the Middle East.
* Understanding of UK health and safety regulations and wastewater treatment operations.
