Commissioning Engineer

Role: Commissioning Engineer\n\nLocation: Manchester\n\nSalary: up to 52k depending on experience + company car or car allowance\n\nHours of Work: Flexible working options\n\n37.5 hours per week\n\nWorking with clients to provide support in connection with faults, modifications, maintenance and repairs for existing and new systems supplied.\n\nLiaise with customers to establish their safety systems requirements and assess/interpret to provide practical solutions.\n\nMain Duties & Responsibilities:\n\n * Leading Small/Medium/Large sized control and / or safety systems throughout entire project life cycle – i.e., design, build, test and commission\n\n * Strong experience / background with PLC platforms, must be able to write code from scratch and have experience commissioning on customer sites.\n\n * Interpret client drawings, requirements, and specs to deliver:\n\n * Design of changes to software and/or hardware for modification/rectification work\n\n * Design and management of new build systems\n\n * Technical authority for the department (checking complex projects & staff guidance)\n\n * Assist the sales team, providing technical guidance to produce quotations according to clients’ specifications.\n\n * Production of site and project documentation as necessary\n\n * Ensure compliance with QA procedures, company procedures and statuary regulations and that all work performed follows IEC61508\n\n * Regular communication with clients to obtain information and keep clients informed of developments.\n\n * Explore and advise on new business opportunities, meeting clients and surveying sites accordingly.\n\n * Scheduling site visits as necessary, liaising with the Technical Support Coordinator/Manager.\n\n * Keep abreast of current technologies, legislation, and standards relevant to business.\n\n * Mentoring and reporting on development of new starters and engineers.\n\n * Provide 24/7 support to customers of all via the On Call system, on a rota basis, being available to respond to emergency site call out as required.\n\nThe above duties and responsibilities represent the main task areas of the above position. However, all employees are expected to undertake any other job or work within their capabilities and the post holder should be flexible in their job role.\n\nFrom time to time, the Company may need to change the duties and responsibilities of some of the employees to support changing business requirements
