Role Overview:



As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of water treatment and infrastructure projects, ensuring all systems and components are installed and tested according to operational requirements. Working closely with design, construction, and client teams, you will lead commissioning activities, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and performance.



Key Responsibilities:



Manage and execute commissioning activities on AMP 8 Severn Trent Water projects, covering water and wastewater treatment plants.

Liaise with design and construction teams to ensure smooth project transitions from installation to commissioning.

Develop detailed commissioning plans, method statements, and risk assessments in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Conduct site inspections, performance testing, and system verifications, ensuring all equipment operates to specification.

Lead fault-finding, troubleshooting, and rectification activities as part of the commissioning process.

Work with clients and stakeholders to ensure systems are operational and ready for handover.

Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental standards are met during commissioning.

Document and provide clear reports on commissioning progress, results, and lessons learned.

Key Requirements:



Experience: Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within the water or utilities sector, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.

Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of water treatment processes, mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.

Qualifications: Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent qualification. Relevant commissioning certifications are an advantage.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Severn Trent Water’s standards, DSEAR, CDM regulations, and relevant water industry standards.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Health & Safety: Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
