Job Title: Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer\n\nLocation: Oxford OX1 1HS / Nottingham NG2 3AQ / Birmingham B2 4QA / Coventry CV1 2GT\n\nSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum\n\nContract Type: Perm / Full time\n\nSector: Engineering\n\nAll CV’s to – (url removed)\n\nA trusted partner to organisations operating in the private and public sectors are seeking a Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer to carry out installation and commissioning works across all aspects of security systems.  You will be covering the whole of the UK apart from London, and a company vehicle will be supplied.\n\nFounded in 2017 they have experienced expediential growth and now provide hard facilities management, repair, planned maintenance, mechanical and electrical, passive fire protection and statutory compliance services via its businesses. \n\nThe role does require some works to be undertaken out of normal working hours on sites across the country. This may involve overnight accommodation. Currently 50% of the work will be night work Monday – Thursday, 10-hour shifts, and 50% of the work will be Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts.

You must be able to cover both shifts as and when required.\n\nThe duties of the Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer will include:\n\nUnderstanding a detailed drawing and specification to identify and implement plan of works\nFirst and second fix of equipment and materials into commercial and industrial premises\nInstallation and commissioning for fire alarm and security systems equipment\nDocument completed work, including materials used, locations and compliance requirements.\nIdentifying any areas that are non-compliant\nWork closely with contractors, other engineers, site supervisors and project managers to deliver the proposed installation and commissioning works within the proposed time frame.\nHaving a thorough understanding of British Standards as well as knowledge of various equipment and systems.\nReporting any variations from the original brief back to the Project/Contracts Manager.\nWe are looking for a Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer with:\n\nUnderstanding of BS(Apply online only) Part 1, BS7671, BS8243:2021\nPrior experience in the fire and security industry\nProficiency with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.\nFIRAS - approved operative\nExperience on live buildings and working within the public sector\nRecent FIA accreditation and courses - Minimum Foundation Course Completed\nDBS certification (essential and will be undertaken as part of the vetting process). BS7858 screening to be conducted.\nECS / CSCS hold a valid certificate\nBeneficial certifications: IPAF, or similar qualifications.\nIndustry based system and equipment training beneficial\nFull (clean) UK driving license\nYou will be joining a company with a reputation for providing a friendly and professional service to its clients.
