What you’ll be doing:
\n
- \n
- Provide technical and behavioural leadership Propulsion Test Section – Mechanical
- Responsible for research, compilation, reviews & feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard
- To represent the company internally & externally as required by contractual agreements
- Responsible for delivering assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures and legislation
- Identify to the Line Manager the required team resource & experience
- Lead & develop the team to achieve the programme requirements & objectives implementing performance measures
- Provide expertise & advice & guidance by acting as Subject Matter Expert at an Authorisation Group
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of planning activities
- Perform the role of line manager to those Engineers identified in your hierarchy and demonstrate management behaviours
- To exhibit the required company SHE behaviours and to demonstrate SHE and Quality Leadership, ensuring your team have both a thorough understanding of the content, risk & control measures and can ultimately demonstrate their competence to apply them

Your skills and experiences:
\n
- \n
- Previous experience of being a key person in their department beyond their per group for their technical knowledge competence
- In-depth understanding and experience of delivery, with the ability to achieve key milestones
- Detailed knowledge of safety controls & procedures in a high-risk operational environment
- Ability to provide technical knowledge & instruction to emergent incidents
- An understanding of capability & learning interventions, best practice and fundamental principles
- Knowledge and understanding to provide technical guidance to Gas, Fluid & Fire Fighting
- Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Testing and Pressure & Endurance Testing
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to negotiate
- Experienced in Stakeholder management
- Degree/HNC/HND in a Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- ILM Level 2/CMI Level 3

The Propulsion Test Section team:
\n
As the Commissioning Project Lead – Mechanical (PTS) you will have the chance to work on state-of-the-art Submarine Propulsion Systems. Working with a team of 6-20 engineers and staff to help deliver key objectives on this project within agreed timescales and budgets ensuring the right quality 100% of the time. This role also offers excellent progression opportunities within the Nuclear Propulsion discipline. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
