NES Fircroft are recruiting for a Communications manager for our EPC client.
Location: Paris La Défense first, then UAE
Start: September 2024
Duration: 1 year renewable
Rate: € negotiable depending on experience
The Communications Managers job purpose is:
- Provide management oversight to the project controls reporting and communication team, including cost and planning, on EPC projects in addition to monitor the performance of the Consultants and Contractors for the end client.
- Employ expertise to create financial and operational solutions that Shape and integrate functional strategies and apply across multiple functional areas.
- Identify business issues that may impact financial performance of the end clients projects.
- Direct the resolution of complex business difficulties and Develops business plans to achieve functional or cross-functional objectives
Responsibilities:
Here are some key responsibilities and requirements for this role:
- To contribute to the development, updating and maintenance of systems and procedures relating to Basis of Schedule to include Project Planning, Scheduling, Progress Measurement, Progress Reporting, Progress Trending, Progress Certification, consistent with the end clients requirements
- Deploy and manage resources to achieve financial and business objectives across multiple functional areas.
- Develop, track, update and report on the detailed delivery and installation schedule and budget.
- Follow through active risk management, protects the end clients Projects from unnecessary risks.
- Work closely with the Quality Management to develop, track, update and report on the site quality control and assurance system.
- Organizes and ensures that potential project scope, schedule or budget changes are immediately identified and addressed.
- Manage Project Metrics including production and productivity rates and factors.
- Oversee, track, update and report on the detailed delivery and installation schedule and budget.
- Manage project review materials and financial forecasting, working with Project Controls.
- Organizes work to meet deadlines set
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls the project in accordance with the clients established policies, procedures
- Oversee reports such as Gantt charts, histograms, PERT charts, Baselines Schedules, S Curves & Progress reports, Critical Path Analysis. Maintain critical path method and analysis and ensure mitigation plans are proposed to management where appropriate
- Liaise with the client and associated companies to ensure business objectives are met, keeping them updated on progress, forecasts, and any applicable scheduling changes
- Supervises daily activities of Project personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures. that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
- Provides leadership and direction for multiple functional areas or regions
Communications and Relationships:
Internal
- Daily direct liaison with all other engineering, operations and project disciplines as well as with other divisions all offices.
External
- Regular contact with the client / Operations/Engineering regarding application of service agreement and questions related to technical planning and scheduling issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in in Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification
Minimum Experience
- 20 years of experience, including at least 5 years of experience as Planning Engineer performing Planning, scheduling / Project Controls activities in the Oil, Gas or Petrochemical industry. Must be in similar position for three years.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good interpersonal and people management skill.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Data Analysis and Presentation : Good analytical, planning, organization, and reporting
- Data Analysis and Presentation : Advanced Primavera skills and sound knowledge of other planning software and tools.
- Data Analysis and Presentation : Advanced Excel
- Data Analysis and Presentation : Ability to produce Level -3 schedules, Manpower histograms, Gantt chart, S-curves with minimum guidance and supervision.
Professional Certifications
- Not mandatory but any relevant Certification like Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar qualifications would be an advantage.
